Brown & Sharpe 586 Height Gauge 14"
B & S was an American tool manufacturing company active in Rhode Island from 1833 to 2001
The company logo and plant of origin are engraved at the top of their Height Gauge Scales
This was made at the Providence, R.I. plant, making the manufacture date prior to 1965
Height Gauge is marked with 0-13", and extending 1" beyond this
0.001 fine adjustment scale
No attempts to clean the gauge were made.  We will leave that to purchaser.  Dust and a green arrow are present.  There is no evidence of corrosion. We believe this will clean to like new appearance.
The wood case is sound with good closure.  Case does have many external scratches.
Comes with three precision spacers manufactured by C.E. Johansson Co. in Eskilstuna, Sweden
