Antique Croquet table game, made in the United States, around 1890.
The game is identical to regular outdoor croquet, but is packaged in a small box and the pieces provided allow the player to recreate the game on a smaller table. This game consists of hitting wooden balls through hoops placed on the game table.
Apparently the game was invented in Ireland around 1830, being a derivative of golf. In England in 1850, it was a pastime of aristocrats and, more or less twenty years later in 1870, it expanded throughout the British colonies.
