Antique PRIMITIVE wooden 8 player croquet set- MARKED “GROWN CROQUET” K 933
ALL WOOD except for the metal wickets and box hard ware.
Box has finger joint corners
The 8 mallets with handles measures 28 1/4" H- one has a repair- picture # 12
Each mallet heads measure 5" L with a diameter of 2 1/4". Three of them have pieces of wood missing Picture # 11
The 8 wooden balls measures each 3 1/4" in diameter
The two end stakes measure 20 3/4" L with a diameter of 1"
There are 8 metal wickers that measure about 10" H x 5 ½” W (at the top) some are miss shaped
The overall size of the wooden finger joint storage box measures IS 33" W x 11 1/4" D x 5 ½” Tall
Handles on the end are carved into the wood
Handmade wire hinges
Latch not original - probably a replacement
Great Antique condition-Balls and mallet heads have dings, scuffs and dents from use and age, Wickets are miss-shaped. Ball stripes are faded. Wood case has cracks and stains, but is still useful with a lot patina appropriate for its age and use.
